Praxis I News from ETS

Beginning immediately, candidates who tested at the September 13th administration and registered online can access their scores online via their Praxis account. This new service, called Scores by Web, does not apply to candidates that registered by submitting a paper registration. The information contained in the online accessible score report is the same as the information shared on the score reports delivered by regular mail, but the online report has a different appearance. The visual difference that is most notable is that the score report is in color - blue with a lime green header. Other differences are that the candidate's name and address have been removed from the center of the report for mailing purposes, and that space has been used to expand the "Score Recipient(s) Requested" field across the page. If you have any questions, please contact The Praxis Program at teachingandlearning@ets.org or 1-866-243-4088.

Screening 2008-2009

Next August, there will be no emergency screening.  Screening will finish mid-July for all sites.  Students will be able to screen without Praxis scores in hand.  If the Praxis scores are not presented at the screening, the packet will be held until August 1, when scores must be turned in.  Students not meeting this deadline will be asked to drop their teacher education classes, which require screening.

ECH 3063 Individualizing Programs has been moved from junior year first semester to the junior year second semester on the checksheet.

If a student comes to ASU with a CDA (Child Development Associate) degree the student may receive credit for ECH 2013 and ECH 2023 providing they completed the CDA credential for college credit. Furthermore, if they received their CDA from a four year institution (not a community college) they can also receive credit for ECH 3043.

ECH students on checksheets prior to 2004-2005, must take ELED 3003 Human Growth and Learning. If they were unable to take it prior to spring of 2007, then the student will need to be moved to a 2005-2006 checksheet or take PSY 3453 Developmental Psychology in its place.
